SANDMOUNT ROAD, KATUNGA – RECONSTRUCTION

Overview: The pavement along this 2.5km section of Sandmount Road has reached its full assets life cycle and is in need of a pavement reconstruction resetting the assets life cycle for 20 years.
The Moira Shire Council has allocated substantial funding to Capital Works projects throughout their region, and BPS is assisting the Shire in delivering this project.
Works include:
Our role: The existing road will be pulverised to a depth of 150mm, reshaped and stabilised using Cement, Lime and Slag.
The existing pavement with then be strengthened by a 150mm overlay with 20mm Fine Crushed Rock, followed by a primer seal with a 10mm scatter.
As part of the scope of works Lorenzs Road intersection is also being upgraded.
This project is jointly funded by Council and the Australian Government’s Roads to Recovery Program.
With the ability to seamlessly integrate into the Shire’s existing systems and processes, BPS is providing civil engineering support within the Shire’s Construction and Assets Team.
