Overview: The Midland Highway between Stanhope and Shepparton was identified under the Towards Zero 2016/2020 Road Safety Strategy and Plan as one of Victoria’s highest risk roads. The intersection of the Midland Highway and Tatura-Undera Road was flagged as a critical concern, with the upgrade of this intersection aimed to greater facilitate a safe traffic flow.

Works include:

  • Approx 35 supply and contract businesses used
  • Circa 150 people working on the site at different times
  • Approx. 9,000 man hours
  • 1400 lineal metres of slotted agg pipe installed
  • 1305 lineal metres of kerb
  • 1058 m2 of concrete infill
  • 3438 Tonnes of asphalt laid
  • 5000 Tonnes of rock placed
  • A road closure for only 2 weeks

Our role: In just 16 weeks, our team again integrated seamlessly with NEMA personnel, adopting their systems yet providing access to our own support management and reporting processes. With the roundabout open and operational, the project was delivered on time and within estimated budget.
