The Benalla Art Gallery is undergoing a staged redevelopment to secure its role as a premier cultural institution in regional Victoria. Major improvements under Stage 1 enhance the gallery experience through the construction of an architecturally designed extension to support a commercial cafe / restaurant and upgrade of the climate control system to meet international sector standards.

The project is structured into two stages: Stage 1A, funded by the Regional Cultural Infrastructure Program, and Stage 1B, supported through the Growing Regions Program.
